In 1911, a few enthusiastic Bellingham and Whatcom County locals raced to the summit of Mt. Baker (10,778 ft.) and back in the 1st Mt. Baker Marathon. Today, that spirit lives on in the Ski to Sea Race, a 7-sport relay over a 100 mile course. The Ski to Sea ESB is brewed here annually to commemorate the tradition of the S2S Race.
Brewer’s Note: The amazing British yeast strain we used for this year’s Ski to Sea ESB produced some of the most beautiful, fruity esters that we have tasted in an ale! We coupled this unique yeast-derived character, with the earthy UK-charm of Fuggles hops, and our very exclusive blend of UK Maris Otter and specialty malts.
