“Heart of Gold” Tap Night July 18th, 2012.
All Funds Raised will be donated to the American Heart Association!
On Wednesday, July 18, an array of amazing Tacoma area restaurant establishments will join together to tap Heart of Gold , a limited edition German Kolsch style golden ale created by American Brewing Company for this unique fundraising event for the American Heart Association (AHA). 100 percent of the sale of this brew will benefit the AHA and raise awareness for their annual South Sound Heart & Stroke Walk being held on October 6th at Cheney Stadium.
Owner, Neil Fallon, was approached by Aaron Artman, President of the Tacoma Rainiers and this year’s Event Chair for the South Sound Heart Walk, to form a team to raise funds for the walk itself. Neil realized that American Brewing Company was in the position to be able to orchestrate an even grander scale of involvement besides participating in the walk itself. Networking through our suppliers, Neil was able to solicit donations of raw goods in order to create a special, one time beer, that will be used as a platform to raise money and awareness for the AHA. Neil put the creative talents of our brew master, Skip Madsen, to work to come up with a perfect “heart healthier” style of beer.
Heart of Gold is a crisp treat that is slightly dry with a subtle sweet softness on the palate. This lightly fruity ale is lower in calories without sacrificing on flavor. With an alcohol by volume of 5% and a low bitterness rating of 30, this Kolsch is one refreshing summer ale!
Joining this event are local establishments who will donate each and every dollar spent on pints or pitchers of Heart of Gold. Funds raised will help to teach children how to avoid obesity and live longer, to help distribute innovative CPR Anytime kits to the community, to teach hospital patients and health professionals about the risks of stroke, and to help educate people on how to reduce their own personal risk of heart disease.
