10 Barrel Brewing Introduces SPECIALTY BEER releases
Estonya to hit shelves this April; Rose Bois slated for late-spring
April 19, 2016 – (Bend, Oregon) – 10 Barrel Brewing has upped the ante with the launch of new specialty beer releases through 2016. Beginning with Estonya, a Baltic-inspired whiskey barrel-aged imperial porter, the beers in 10 Barrel’s specialty line will be hand-bottled and released roughly four to five times each year.
Rose Bois is next in line and has been brewing since 10 Barrel’s current production facility opened in 2012. This long-awaited release is slated to hit shelves late-spring.
Both beers are limited release brews available through select bottle shops in Oregon, Washington, California, Colorado, and Idaho, as well as through 10 Barrel’s pubs in Bend, Boise and Portland.
Additional small-batch specialty beers planned for release in 2016 include additional variations of Rose Bois including Cherry and Huckleberry, a rye barrel aged barley wine, a Jamaican Me Pumpkin aged over 2 years, as well as other yet-to-be-announced selections from 10 Barrel’s team of award winning brewers.
Estyona is a Baltic-inspired imperial porter crafted by 10 Barrel’s head Bend brewer, Tonya Cornett. Aged in Blanton’s Bourbon barrels from West Virginia, the beer has strong whiskey characteristics with notes of vanilla, milk chocolate, figs, and caramel. Sitting at an ABV of 11.9 percent, Estonya is sold in wax-sealed 22-oz. bottles for $15.99 and is intended to drink now or cellar.
“Estonya is a recipe I’ve been fine-tuning for years and have brewed many times,” said Cornett. “I personally love it as a dessert beer alongside something sweet, but it’s a killer treat on its own as well.”
Rose Bois, which is French for wooden rose, is 10 Barrel brewmaster Jimmy Seifrit’s ode to brewing. Made with raspberries and aged in Lange Winery wine barrels, the beer’s tart flavor is balanced with raspberry notes and earthy undertones. Rose Bois has an ABV of 7.4 percent and will be sold in corked 750 mL bottles for $21.99.
“Good things come to those who wait,” said Seifrit. “After three and a half years of aging in wood, resonating on raspberries, and inoculation of 3 different types of yeast, the wait is finally over!”
