Oktoberfest is a German beer tradition that dates back to well before the days of planes and cars, with dozens of small breweries littering the countryside of Germany, serving their local towns. One of the most luxurious forms of long-distance travel, perhaps, was to travel by train, and in our case, this Oktoberfest collaboration was connected by a railway of its own (Tacoma’s Link). We combined with the folks at Pacific Brewing and Malting to a create The Baron Von Huth Oktoberfest Marzen Lager. Baron Von Huth is named after Anton Huth, the founder of the original Pacific Brewing, and a re-purposed caricature of “The Red Baron,” the iconic WWI German fighter pilot. This Marzen Lager is amber-colored, delicately malt-forward, and crisp like you’d expect from a lager.
