The Unknown Brewing Company and 7venth Sun Brewing collaborated together to create a barrel aged sour they so affectionately call, Rise Against Clowns.
This collaboration was based off of Owner and Head Brewer Of The Unknown Brewing Co., Brad Shell’s extreme hatred of clowns, to the point he wants them all eradicated from the earth. With that idea in mind, Brad and Justin created “Rise Against Clowns”, a 6.6% barrel aged sour that has been brewed with Blood Oranges and Cotton Candy and is fermented with 100% brettanomyces.
The blood oranges give it a pop of citrus flavor and the cotton candy gets fermented out leaving a subtle vanilla finish. The end result is like a Brett orange creamsicle.
Justin Strange, Vice President and Brewer at 7venth Sun Brewing Company says, ‘The blood orange was fun to source here in Florida and allowed me to bring a local ingredient. Brad and I had talked about this for a long time and with Halloween being my favorite holiday, it made for a perfectly timed release for my end.”
This is a very limited release 750ml bomber that will be available in North Carolina only. Available in limited quantities in The Unknown Taproom located at 1327 S Mint St, Charlotte, NC starting this Thursday October 15th, 2015. All other locations in NC early next week.
