Silver City Brewery announces the 2014 release of their award winning Old Scrooge Christmas Ale & 2013 Bourbon Barrel Aged Old Scrooge

Silver City Brewery announces the 2014 release of their most decorated award winning beer, Old Scrooge Christmas Ale.Old Scrooge Christmas Ale, this year’s Great American Beer Festival Silver Medal Winner in the Old Ale/Strong Ale category has won more national & international accolades than any other Silver City Beer (Fat Scotch Ale is a close second).
Silver City Old Scrooge Christmas Ale is a small batch beer in the brewery’s Limited Release series which also includes Silver City’s Imperial Stout, Fat Woody: Oak Aged Scotch Ale, Liquid Sunshine: Belgian Style Tripel, The Giant Made of Shadows: Belgian Dark Strong Ale, and Citra Wet Hop Ale.
Each beer is brewed & released only once per year and are released alternating months starting with Imperial Stout in January and finishing with Old Scrooge in November. Old Scrooge will be available in limited 22oz bottles around Western Washington & at very select locations on draft.
Silver City is also expanding their barrel aging program to allow distribution of some of their most coveted limited release offerings, starting with Bourbon Barrel Aged Old Scrooge.
Vintage 2013 Old Scrooge Christmas Ale was aged for a year in Heaven Hill Bourbon Barrels then bottled for a limited 22oz release. Only 60 cases will be made available for distribution in Western Washington late November. Bottles are now available at Silver City Brewery’s Taproom.
