Seven Brides Brewing rolls out Munich-style Lager, throws Kick Off Party May 21st
Silverton, Oregon. May 10, 2016 – Seven Brides Brewing announced today the release of their newest craft beer, a Munich-style lager dubbed Raising Helles. With the announcement, the brewery is also announcing an upcoming Kick Off Party to celebrate the release; what will be the first in a new tradition to celebrate the brewer’s unique and popular specialty beers.
The inspiration for Raising Helles came from co-owner Jeff DeSantis’ recent trip to Germany for Oktoberfest, where he sampled a traditional Munich Helles. “There was something special about that Helles,” says DeSantis. “It was both complex in flavor, while still easy to drink. I knew it would be a perfect spring and summer seasonal beer, something I could see myself and my friends enjoying back home.” Yet creating the perfect balance of flavors wasn’t easy to get right. “It seems like a simple beer, but to create that simplicity takes a very careful brew balance,” says Josiah Kelley, Seven Brides’ head brewer. “We experimented a lot before we got it right.” While great for warm weather, DeSantis also notes that it’s a perfect transitional beer. “It’s not a hoppy beer, has a fairly low alcohol content, and has a very approachable, drinkable profile. It makes Helles great for first timers just getting into beer, or for more seasoned aficionados looking to enjoy something special through a long afternoon.”
In celebration of the Raising Helles release, Seven Brides is planning a Kick Off Party at their Tap Room in Silverton, Oregon. Held on May 21st from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., the party will offer live music, pint and food specials as well as hourly prizes, including dinner for two, free growler fills and cases of Raising Helles. The restaurant, located at 990 N. First Street, in Silverton, Oregon, serves as the home to Seven Brides Brewing, and offers a family-friendly environment with an eclectic American menu. The Tap Room’s new outdoor patio provides a comfortable outdoor experience both day and night, including their unique custom fire pit.
“We hope people come down to our little town and enjoy the day,” says DeSantis. “There’s so much to do in and around Silverton, families can make a day of it. And when they’re tired, they can top it all off with an afternoon here at the Tap Room, drinking a pint of Raising Helles.”
