Super Beer at every place here is all abut Farrelli’s

Farrelli’s Wood Fire Pizza was founded in 1995 in Lacey, WA by John, Margaret and Jacque Farrell as “Farrelli’s Pizza and Pool Co.”  John and Margaret had owned several past concepts in Tacoma including John’s Breakfast, Burgers and Pies, The Hob Nob,and Engine House #9.

Employee interviews were held in a dirt parking lot where the restaurant now stands at a folding table with chairs. Several of the people hired at those original interviews are still with the company to this day.  The employees were hired based upon the quality of their character and not the quality of their resume, a strategy that has served the company well ever since.  Farrelli’s refers to this strategy as hiring for talent.

When Farrelli’s opened, they founded their concept on ‘quality’ with the understanding that by focusing on making the best products and delivering them with great customer service, that their customers would gladly pay for them.  This positioning strategy has also served them well throughout the years, with achievements such as the Independent Pizzeria of the Year Award in 2006 by Pizza Today Magazine, as well as numerous other local and national awards for their superior quality and growth.

It took them nearly nine years to open their second store in DuPont, WA, just a stone’s throw from the states busiest interstate, I-5, and also to Joint Base Lewis McChord which is home to thousands of service men and women.

After the DuPont store was up and running the next three stores opened soon thereafter, one per year to be exact.  The first of those three stores was the Sumner, WA location which was opened in May of 2005 in the heart of the downtown Sumner district on Main St.  The next location was the 6th Ave. Tacoma location, which is the most metropolitan of all of the Farrelli’s Pizza locations, being situated so near the downtown district of the major port city of Tacoma, and all of the businesses and organizations within it. The fifth location was the Parkland store which is situated on the South side of Tacoma on Garfield St. in the bustling college community of Pacific LutheranUniversity.

In 2009, Farrelli’s founded a second concept called McNamara’s Pub & Eatery across the street from their DuPont Farrelli’s Pizza store.  McNamara’s is an Irish inspired, American restaurant and pub.  This new restaurant has allowed Farrelli’s to test their business system in a new concept.

Since then Farrelli’s has opened two new locations in Maple Valley, WA and the emerging community of Frederickson, WA in rural Pierce Co.  With a new location under construction and future locations identified, the future looks bright for Farrelli’s Pizza!
