I just learned from my friend Lisa Morrison that Fred Eckhardt has passed. I am on a trip to look, find and try more great beer and without Fred this would have never been possible. I had the distinct pleasure to have chatted and told stories with Fred. He will always be a huge influence on my beer writing and he was a true champion of the beer world.
I remember 10 years ago when Fred held my daughter when she was 6 weeks old. So I could meet Sam Calagione (Dog Fish Head) I still have the picture with my kid and Fred I will cherish this for years to come.
To you Fred I hold a glass up in your honor. Rest in Peace my Friend….
