Tender Loving Empire NWPA: New Beer Harmonizes Oregon Craft Beer & Music
Fort George Brewery Collaborates with Independent Record Label
(Astoria, OR) Fort George Brewery is launching the first cans in a series of seasonal collaboration beers. Tender Loving Empire NWPA is a Northwest Pale Ale aimed at quenching patron’s springtime thirsts not only for beer, but also for the local music scene. The brewery has collaborated with the independent record label, Tender Loving Empire (TLE), of Portland, OR. TLE designed the label and will work with Fort George to promote the beer.
TLE Artist, Andrew Luke Sloan, designed the 16 ounce cans illustrating of the sun sinking behind the Pacific Ocean, which he calls, “wooden sunset”. The company, in addition to recording well-known local musicians, also includes a screen printing studio and music shop. While TLE prides itself on capturing the creativity of local artists, so does the Fort George when it comes to brewers and beer. So the two companies have materialized the union of craft music and craft beer in these cans.
The debut of the beer, Tender Loving Empire NWPA, is celebrated with live music videos that TLE bands filmed along the Columbia River and in the brewery itself. The Fort George website will host these videos as well as an MP3 sampler at fortgeorgebrewery.com/tenderlovingempire.
There will also be parties in Astoria and Portland, culminating at Bunk Bar on May 4th.
Next in the series of Fort George seasonal collaboration beers, will be 3 Way IPA, with brewers from Gigantic and Lompoc of Portland, out this summer.
