HOTLIPS Pizza & Everybody’s Brewing Proudly Release “PrIdePA” Brew in Celebration of Pride Month
– PrIdePA is a fruity, aromatic IPA brewed with hands-on help from HOTLIPS staff –
Portland, Ore. (June 3, 2016) – HOTLIPS Pizza and Everybody’s Brewing have joined forces to produce a special IPA to celebrate Pride in the month of June. HOTLIPS employees took part in the brewing process, making a trip to Everybody’s Brewing in White Salmon, Washington, to participate, hands-on.
The result of the collaboration is an IPA with a robust nose, full of tropical fruit and mango flavors with a clean finish. It’s loaded with Mosaic and Mandarina Bavaria hops, and is bright yellow with an orange tint. This beer weighs in at 6.7% ABV, with 75 IBUs.
“We’re lucky to have such a friendly, cooperative beer and food community. Our crew was welcomed warmly and included in each step of the process at Everybody’s Brewing,” says HOTLIPS Pizza’s Beverage Coordinator, Emily Matthews. “We learned a lot about how beer is brewed from start to finish, and were included in the process from grinding the grain to adding the hops and even cleaning out the tanks. It was a great day, and we have a great beer to show for it!”
Timed to be available throughout the month of June, the PrIdePA is symbolic of the unity and equality that are honored with the annual LGBT Pride celebration. This brew is on tap at all six HOTLIPS Pizza locations in the Portland area, as well as at Everybodys’ Brewing in White Salmon, Washington. It will also be featured at the Portland Beer Week/HOTLIPS Block Party on June 18th at HOTLIPS on SE 22nd & Hawthorne.
“We really try to embrace what the name ‘Everybody’s Brewing’ means,” says brewery owner Doug Ellenberger. “We think beer is a fantastic way to bring people together, so we were happy to have the HOTLIPS staff come out and lend a hand in brewing this IPA with us. We’re also extremely happy with the beer.”
