Ecliptic Brewing Partners With Cigar City Brewing On Ellipsing the Sun
Portland, Ore. and Tampa, Fla. breweries collaborate on release of new ale
PORTLAND, Ore. Ecliptic Brewing has partnered with Tampa, Fla.-based Cigar City Brewing on the newest addition to its Cosmic Collaboration series, Ellipsing the Sun. The full-flavored ale was brewed with peaches, apricot, lemon and juniper, and aged in white wine barrels.
“We had a lot of fun collaborating with Wayne Wambles from Cigar City Brewing and have been eagerly awaiting the release of this beer since we brewed it this past April,” said Ecliptic Brewing owner and head brewmaster John Harris. “Ellipsing the Sun is a unique beer for us and truly captures the spirit of collaboration, merging our two styles.”
Harris and Cigar City Brewing’s Wambles previously collaborated in 2013 on Illuminating the Path, which was brewed and released in Cigar City Brewing’s hometown. During the 2015 Craft Brewers Conference (CBC) in Portland, Ore., Harris and Wambles got started on the creation of Ellipsing the Sun.
Ellipsing the Sun is the second release in Ecliptic’s Cosmic Collaboration series of beers. The first release was a collaboration with Dogfish Head and brewer Sam Calagione called Sagittarius B2N, which was also brewed during the 2015 CBC.
