BRIDEGPORT BREWING COMPany SWINGS FOR THE FENCES WITH NEW LIMITED EDITION BEER

New Summer Ale Brewed Specially for Oregon’s Newest Baseball Team, The Hillsboro Hops

PORTLAND, Ore.  – First comes the team name, then the uniforms and finally, an official team beer for this season. BridgePort Brewing Company, Oregon’s oldest craft brewery, is excited to kick off the Hillsboro Hops (@HillsboroHops) season with Long Ball Ale, a light bodied summertime style ale, brewed just for the Hops.

“Our golden summer ale is brewed to be refreshing on a hot summer day at the ball park and maintains a smooth bittering profile with a slight haze to preserve the hop aroma,” commented brewmaster, Jeff Edgerton. “One of my favorite characteristics of this beer is the slight Meyer lemon finish that you get after dry hopping with Meridians, a fairly limited hop in our state.’”

The baseball community is already rallying around it’s newest team and in this spirit, BridgePort turned to its Facebook community to name this beer. After 249 entries were submitted, BridgePort fans were able to vote on their favorite name and Long Ball Ale was the crowd favorite.
