Bison Hires Oregon & Washington Sales Rep!
Duke Geren joins Bison Brewing team as Director of Hearts & Minds
–For Immediate Release–
I Post this as I am so very proud of my good friend and his accomplishments.
Berkeley, Calif.––Bison Brewing is excited to announce its first hire outside of its home state of California. Duke Geren will be joining the Bison Brewing team as its new Director of Hearts and Minds, representing and promoting the Bison brand in Oregon and Washington states.
“I met Duke through Twitter, and got to hang out with him last 2-3 years at OBF and Winter Beer Fest and my other visits to PDX,” says Dan Del Grande, Bison’s owner and brewmaster. “He impressed me with his beer knowledge—being an educator at F.H. Steinbart Co.—and relentless upbeat attitude. He’ll continue to provide the best of these two worlds, spreading the word of my organic beers.”
Duke first fell in love with craft beer over 20 years ago during his first visit to Portland’s iconic English-style pub, The Horse Brass. The bartender that evening was none other than the bar’s legendary proprietor —the late great Don Younger. Younger’s knowledge and passion for craft beer made such and impression on Duke; he was automatically converted into a craft beer fan for life.
After leaving his 23-year career in the airline industry, Duke landed his first gig in the craft beer industry at F.H. Steinbart Co.—the oldest home brew and draught supply store in the United States. Duke worked there three years when the opportunity to join the Bison team presented itself.
“I couldn’t be more excited to be working with a passionate group of individuals who not only promote high quality craft beer, but do so responsibly and sustainably,” explains Duke.
In his new role as the Director of Hearts and Minds, Duke will be working as Bison’s Northwest regional sales representative, promoting and selling Bison’s delicious line of organic craft beers to the thirsty patrons of Cascadia.
Duke has lived in the Portland area for the past 16 years and currently resides in Vancouver, Washington with his partner of 13 years, Courtney, and their two children, Coler and Declynn.
