Mississippi neighborhood brewery invites runners to participate in one-mile race

Portland, Ore.  Ecliptic Brewing, a craft brewery and restaurant in Portland’s Mississippi neighborhood, will host its First Annual Beer Mile on Sunday, May 31 at 9:00 a.m. The event will begin at the brewery with a complimentary beer, and end back at Ecliptic for live music and beer festivities.

“We could not be more excited about our first ever beer mile,” said Ecliptic owner and head brewmaster John Harris. “We hope to have friends old and new come out to enjoy a quick run and an epic after-party.”

The one mile race will feature an out-and-back course that starts and finishes at the brewery. In addition to volunteer support along the course, all participants will receive an official race t-shirt, race bib and two free Ecliptic beers.

The Oregon Food Bank will be the official charitable partner of the event. Ecliptic Brewing will have food collection bins on-site at packet pickup on race day. Attendees are encouraged to bring at least one can of non-perishable food.
