(Independence, OR) – Rogue Ales has released Chatoe Roguenbier Rye Ale, made with Rogue Farms Dream Rye grown on the Rogue Farm.
Originally, fifteen acres of the Dream Rye were planted, only to see it wiped out in less than a day by hungry slugs. Undeterred, we plowed, disced, harrowed and drilled the field again to grow the rye. It is harder to do it yourself, but is worth it in the end. When you grow it, you know it.
The rye was harvested in the late summer and used to brew Chatoe Roguenbier Rye Ale. It was brewed using nine ingredients and is made up of 100% Rogue hops, barley and rye: Rogue Dream Rye; Rogue Black, Rogue Smoked, Rogue Caramel 40 and Rogue Barley Farm Dare and Risk malts; Rogue Hopyard Independent Hops; Free Range Coastal Water and Weizen Yeast.
Rogue Ales & Spirits is dedicated to saving the terroir of Oregon hops, barley, honey, pumpkins, jalepenos, bees and rye one acre at a time. by growing its own. The Rogue GYO 200-acre Micro Barley Farm is located in Oregon’s Tygh Valley Appellation and Rogue’s 42 acre micro Hopyard is located in Oregon’s Wigrich Appellation.
