From Well 80 Brewing –
On July 21, at 2:00 p.m. a wooden keg filled with the newly brewed historical beer – Leopold’s #1 Lager – will arrive by horse-drawn carriage from the Schmidt House in Tumwater to the Well 80 Brewhouse in downtown Olympia. It’ll be greeted along the way by a brass band, and a Leopold Schmidt impersonator will be on the scene for a ceremonial keg-tapping of a beer that was created by two Pauls: Paul Pearson, Well 80’s brewmaster and Paul Knight, former brewmaster of Olympia Brewing Company (1974-1997). Proceeds of the sale of this beer will go to the Olympia-Tumwater Foundation, and the Old Brewhouse Foundation.
