Backwoods Brewing – You’re Not You When You’re Thirsty Stout (Dec 1)
That’s right! Once again, Kevin Waters, our crazy yet innovative Brewmaster, decided the best way to capture the flavor of a delicious candy bar in a stout was to add 150 lbs of actual candy bars directly to a 20 barrel batch. And so, 672 KING size candy bar wrappers later, they were placed in mesh bags and added to the boil kettle. And yes, we totally ate one or two (or three) along the way!
“You’re Not You When You’re Thirsty” contains chocolate, caramel, peanut, and nougat. We also used a chocolate malt in the base to give it an extra chocolate overtone. The beer should finish out at 6% ABV and 10 IBU.
Backwoods will be releasing You’re Not You When You’re Thirsty on December 1st, at our first-ever brewery case release party. It will take place at our production facility in Stevenson beer fans ages 21+! We’ll have a limited number of 16oz 4-packs for sale and will offer beer on tap, as well as brewery tours and tasters directly off the brewery tanks! Entry and tours are free, and beer is available for purchase.
