Epic Brewing – Releases Old Sage Brett
Released today 12/12 – This year’s very limited release of Old Sage Brett was aged in the same barrels as the previous release but instead of filling them with Utah Sage Saison we used the Golden Saison that serves as the base for Elder Brett. The resulting beer has a subtle but persistent herbal character with an increased Brettanomyces funk. The complex aroma is well-cellared and includes dandelion, green apple skin, and wet clay. The initial sip is expectedly sour but it fades quickly to a semi-sweet grain finish.
