Our History

On October 17, 1989, Charles and Rose Ann Finkel open the Pike Place Brewery with The World’s Shortest Non-Motorized Uphill Parade.

The first keg of Pike Pale Ale, is crafted by head brewer, Jason Parker, and officially tapped  by Franz Inselkammer, the Braü von Aying, following a parade from The Pike Place Brewery, then located at 1432 Western Avenue, to Cutter’s Bay House, two blocks away (uphill).

2nd World’s Shortest Non-Motorized Uphill Parade

On October 17, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. friends and supporters of Pike Brewing will kick off the 25th anniversary celebration with a parade from Jason Parker’s Copperworks Distillery (located two blocks south of Pike on Alaskan Way) uphill to Pike Brewery’s Post Alley entrance.
