Supporters to Rally Friday at Washington State Capitol to End Beer Tax
OLYMPIA, WA – Brewers, hop growers, restaurant owners, neighborhood retailers, distributors, grocers, bar owners, business representatives, and beer enthusiasts from across the state will rally to oppose legislation to extend the temporary beer tax originally passed in 2010, as well as the plan to extend the tax to small, local brewers.
WHO: Speakers addressing the crowd will include Dick Cantwell, Elysian Brewing Company; Also, an icon of Washington’s beer history – the Grazing Rainiers – will be making a very special appearance.

WHY: The proposals to extend the temporary tax on beer, as well as double or quadruple the tax rate on small, local brewers, would threaten Washington jobs and hurt small businesses. Legislators need to hear from those that would be directly impacted by the continuation and expansion of this massive and unfair tax hike.
