PDX Beer Week | Portland Fruit Beer Festival

Portland Fruit Beer Festival Wrap-up

By March 5, 2021No Comments

This past weekend I was able to attend the Portland Fruit Beer Festival.  Wow what a great time.  30 different fruit beers plus a rare tasting tent with 3 different brews being poured this was near perfect.  One complaint the crowd size was a tad packed but I am sure the organizers loved it.  Being a fruit beer geek I loved the tasty treats and all the Portland friends I got to see.  The beer festival season is upon us for sure.

I found two Strawberry Rhubarb beers and so I had to taste these.  Flat Tail Brewing and Breakside brewing both made super tasty brews.  Once again Widmer came out with a Gose a sour salty brew with lots of hibiscus and marionberry that was lingering in the flavor. Oakshire fromEugenebrought with them a Orange Chocolate Porter that was near perfect. Ninkasi anotherEugenebrewer brought a tasty Cherry Bourbon Porter that has big bourbon flavor and a hint of cherry that finished the brew nicely.

This being the second year of the event I am sure glad to have been to both thus far and this event has become a must attend event every second week of June for me.  Cheers from Portland and Burnside Brewing another great year for fruit beer.

Coming up this week is the Mother of Fathers Day Beer Festivals the Washington Brewers Festival. I will be posting soon.
