McMenamins for most is a place they get a great beer, good food and the most interesting atmosphere. Just a few days ago I got this bottle of Black Widow Porter from McMenamins. I had not seen a new bottle of brew from these guys in a while. So I chilled it and tried it and must say this was an excellent bottle of porter. Big chocolate, malty and licorice flavors. I was impressed with this beer.
So I did a little research they are going to release this for the Halloween time frame. A recipe they brought back from 1991. So if you get a chance head out to a McMenamins try this beer either on tap or grab a bottle for home.
Beer Stats – (From Mcmenamins)
Each deep-black goblet of Black Widow is packed full of the robust notes afforded by generous amounts of black and roast malts and further spirited with ethereal wisps of caramel and licorice. Both substantial and sublime, this elixir is sure to slake the most fiendish of thirsts. Open up a creaking pub door, find a seat with friends and family, and nourish your inner ghoul with a brew steeped in tradition and mystery. A good howl at the Cheshire moon couldn’t hurt, either.
