Alaskan Brewing Summer Ale

(Juneau, AK) – There’s still snow on the ground in Juneau, but in other parts of the country it’s already getting downright warm, and Alaskan Brewing is releasing their always-anticipated seasonal Alaskan Summer Ale in April for all their fans dwelling in warmer climates – and those of us still dreaming of summer in Alaska.

“This is a favorite here in the brief Alaskan summers,” says Alaskan Brewer Rob Day. “A lot of us from the Brew Crew fish in our spare time, and our summer excursions can include close encounters of the marine kind. So our Summer Ale was inspired by fresh Alaskan seafood and the amazing experiences that we can have on the water, like coming face to face with an Orca.”

Alaskan Summer Ale is brewed in the style of a Kolsch, successfully balancing a softly malted palate with the clean freshness of hops. The straw-gold color and easy drinkability—the brew clocks in at a sessionalble 5.3% ABV—are an enjoyable way to celebrate summer. Alaskan recommends that drinkers enjoy this beer with delicately flavored foods like fresh, wild Alaska crab or halibut or try it as an accompaniment to salads. No matter how you like to drink it, be warned — like an Alaska summer, Alaskan Summer Ale won’t last long, and will be gone before you know it — so enjoy it now!
