Beer Bloggers Conference Wrap Up Day 1
Just got back from Indianapolis Indiana late Sunday night. Why was I there well if you did not know by now I went for the 3rd Annual Beer Bloggers Conference. My 3rd year of attending and from the looks of it I will be going for quite some time. People ask me all the time, “Why do I go?” I will answer with the following. This is a 3 part piece so you come back each day and read. I give you permission to have a beer for each day’s blog. 😉 Now go get that first beer.
Thursday – Sit back, relax, I got a story for you. Arrived in Chicago yes I know it’s not Indy but you will see why. Now back to the story. A few beer bloggers figured we are this close to Chicago why not have some pre-conference activities there. So I embark to the hotel and soon met up with many other bloggers as we where about to have a great night. Our first stop was Goose Island Clybourn for a 4 course beer and food pairing. Terrific food, beer and friends (bloggers) this was awesome. Next we head for a few more stops. We imbibed at Haymarket Pub and Brewery, Revolution Brewing and Piece Brewing and Pizza. So by now I am sure our seeing why I went. Were there any stand out beers just read on and just imagine these cold beers. – Goose Island Madam Rose Flanders Oud Burin. Haymarket Brewing – Angry Bird Belgian IPA, Revolution Brewing – Repo Man Rye Stout and Piece Brewing – Roland the Headless Assistant Brewer Oatmeal Stout. These are just a few of many that were drunk. After this crawl ended adding anoother tap house near the hotel to have a few more brews just was not the best idea it was getting late and there is a 8:30am bus arrivial to head to Indy in the morning. Going to bed around 2am by the way. I am getting very tired. I got up at 3am to fly to Chicago so I am super beat. Stay tuned for Day 2, Day 3 and Day 4’s Activites. Will BrewDad ever get a good night sleep? Will BrewDad find that Ultimate Barley Pop he has been looking for? Will the evil keg conquer? Come back same beer time, same beer blog.
Wish I could have been there on Thursday. Hope to be out there early next year for sure and get into some trouble perhaps?
Dude, quite the pub crawl. Trying to piece it all together myself, thank baby Jesus for Untappd!
BrewDad, had a fun time meeting you at BBC. Thrusday night in Chicago was a too much fun.
I want you to know, I just read aloud those last few sentences in my best Batman narrator voice. If you ever need a voiceover gal for your blog, I’m your lady! Always great to see you, BrewDad!
