Silver City Brewery announces opening of Brewery Taproom & the limited release of Le Fat 2012 ~ Oak Barrel  Aged Belgian Sour Scotch Ale.

Bremerton, WA – April 30, 2012 – Today Silver City Brewery is pleased to announce the opening of their brewery taproom in Bremerton & the release of Le Fat 2012~ Oak Barrel Age Belgian Sour Scotch Ale.

SilverCityBrewery Taproom will open to the public on Wednesday May 16th at3pm. The Taproom is located at the Bremerton production brewery location in the Auto Center Way Business District at206 Katy Penman Ave. Bremerton,WA98310. Silver City Brewery Taproom will feature all of their annual offerings, seasonal brews, specialty releases, small & pilot batch, & experimental beers on tap for guests to try & enjoy. All beers will be available in samples or pints to enjoy, with most available for growler fills, 22oz bottles & kegs to go. Silver City Taproom will also offer retail merchandise and daily brewery tours.

SilverCity’s Production Brewery opened for operation in May of 2010. The Taproom has been in the plan since then.  Of this, Silver City Co-owner Scott Houmes says; “This has been a long time coming and we are so excited to see this part of the brewery operations take shape for our valued guests & fans. To have the opportunity for guests to enjoy their local craft brewery first hand, mingle & interact directly with the brewery & brewers has always been the vision we carried when we moved brewery operations from Silverdale to Bremerton. We couldn’t be more excited.”

Silver City Taproom will be open Wed – Fri 3pm-9pm, Sat 12pm – 8pm, & Sun 12pm– 5pm.Kegs to go will be available through the week 11am to 4:30pm Mon & Tues & 11amto close the rest of the week. To celebrate the opening of Silver City Taproom, Brewmaster Don Spencer is proud to offer a special beer for release. Le Fat 2012 ~ Oak Barrel Age Belgian Sour Scotch Ale in cork finished bottles. Le Fat 2012 production began immediately following the move to Bremerton, 2 years prior to it’s release. The beer is based on one of Silver City’s most popular and award winning beers; Fat Scotch Ale. The beer was fermented with Belgian yeast, inoculated with non-traditional micro-organisms and aged in used Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet barrels.

Le Fat will go on sale Friday May 25th at 5pm at the Silver City Brewery Taproom location only. The quantities are limited so please arrive early if you would like to purchase a bottle. The 750ml cork finished bottle will be $19.99.
